Just been watching a piece on BBC Breakfast featuring a school that has developed a scheme where all pupils hand in their mobiles at the start if the day and receive them back at home time. The school has found this has resulted in positives in terms of boosting face to face conversations, behaviour and exam results.
Some local schools are thinking of introducing similar schemes but the cost is quite high and, therefore, potentially prohibitive.
Although it may seem a strange suggestion but what kudos might there be for a mobile phone company to offer sponsorship for such schemes on the basic of "Responsibile Provider", similar to betting companies advocating responsible betting.
The first mobile supplier would, in my opinion, steal a March on the others in the area of all users, but particularly the young, in using their mobiles in a more responsible way?
