For the past 8 weeks now, in my area and around a big secondry school we have been getting this message for Sky/O2 Mobile Data not working. "Sorry, a phone mast close to you isn't working. LS27 Area"
8 Weeks we have been without mobile data, and we have now been told
"Our engineers are on the case and making progress but your service might come and go until we fix it. We'll update you by Friday 31st May 2024."
I have logged multiple complaints myself and even tried to contact Sky many many times and all get told is that someone is looking at the issue.
I spend upto 10 hours a day in this location and we dont have Wifi to help us, we simply just have calls and texts.
When i phoned up to complain that i need Data for my work and my kids need data when they leave school, i was just told they is nothing i can do about it, i should get a second contact with a rival company and use hotspot - Because Sky Customer Services tell me that Data is not part of the contact and while i have Calls and texts then i will be not be re-imbursed for the lack of service.
I have spoken to the a few advice lines about this issues because we are now into the 3rd month of this issue, and they said do i have a basic package or do i pay extra for data. I pay for the 10gb a month service, so he said that i have a case to be able to cancel my account and move to another company without charge for leaving sky 8 months early because you are not getting what you are paying for and you have not been offered anything in a re-imbursment....
I need to get rid of Sky, i cannot keep up with this service

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreSky do not own the mast so it will be up the the owner to repair it, so in the meantime do you not have access to a Wifi network that you can link up to ?

Yes I know they don't own the mast, O2 own the equipment and Sky jump on it.
And no, I said we don't have WiFi access.
I went out at the weekend and got a Vodafone contract and put it in my phone as a dual SIM so I can get data.
Quite decent speeds too
