My wife bought me an Apple Watch series 8 cellular version so I'm going to wait to see what happens next September when Apple release the iPhone 15 and it won't have a sim tray there going to be Esim version's hopefully sky will get it right then 👍🏻

I went for a sim only with Virgin Mobile. Uses Vodafone network. Costs £7 a month for 12GB and unlimited calls and texts. Also you get an eSim; you need to ring them to have the eSim set up, before you start using the physical sim they send you. Also you get full free EU user included. No contract, you can cancel without penalty each month. Support has a poor reputation, but as long as you don't try to do anything you can't do through the app it's fine. If you're not happy you can always go elsewhere at the end of the month without penalty. If you might want person to person support, you can get much the same direct from Vodafone, but about £17 a month.

Please Sky hurry up! I don't want to change operator. Get us an eSIM

I'm afraid I was hoping for a speedy esim option when I started this conversation 3 years ago! I've dumped 2 of my family's 5 sky mobile contracts as we've bought Apple Watches. As and when we buy more watches, the rest will reluctantly follow. I just don't understand the reason sky don't do what it takes to support esim.

A shocking state of affairs and poor service. Come on SKY, join the 21st century

Let's face it, it looks like SKY aren't going to be offering an eSim anytime soon so for anyone holding out, I'd just leave SKY mobile and get it over and done with.

As noted earlier in this thread and widely discussed elsewhere, Sky are far from being the only MVNO struggling to get eSIM support in place.  It's a technology which is much easier for the actual network operators (EE/O2/Vodaphone/Three) to implement than everyone else.
