Been with sky a while now and the agents have promised repeatedly Esims for watches will arrive soon, .....
Why is Sky the only network not to have Esim and when will they arrive??
I have an iwatch that needs connecting and this just isn't good enough.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@muzz500 Sky are not the only network who don't offer esim support, only the big 4 offer it and as far as I can see no MVNO supports them.

Sadly Sky don't support eSim as you have found out, if you're in contract with Sky there isn't anything else you can do or any way to add a second sim. The iPhone is dual SIM from the view point of one eSim and one standard SIM.

This is one of the reasons I will be leaving Sky mobile when my contract is up.
Both would like an Apple Watch, but without the eSim, it does lose a bit of its functionality, so will get one soon and then switch.
Annoying as Sky use the 02 network which support eSims..

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@TrickyT Sky's service is carried on the O2 Network, that is where any similarity ends. Just because they use another operators infrastrucure it doesn't automatically mean they must & should offer all the same extras.

Can you registered an e sim over two devices like? If not, doesn't the watch take a sim card also?

I asked Sky via twitter last week and this was their response. "As you're aware, currently eSIMs are not available on Sky Mobile. We're looking to add eSIM functionality to Sky Mobile in 2021 but there's no confirmed date for this yet. As soon as we do have a date we'll let everyone know."
There is hope yet.

Looking at adding in 2021? We are 2/3 through 2021 so it looks like it's just a standard stock answer.
They could have put the end 2021 to look like it has been reviewed.
Still loving the Apple 6 watch, but it is annoying that I still have to have my phone in my pocket all the time to get the full benefits.
Not sure how many contracts they have lost but I know of a dozen people who have moved from Sky Mobile because of this.

Sky have finally hinted that they are looking at esim....

Looking to add them in the future.
Not really much of a commitment, would be more excied if they said we have PLANS to add tem in the future. 😁

I would also ask the same question. I signed up to Sky Mobile but might have to switch networks instead of renewing my contract next year if they don't offer esims then.
