Sending Voice notes

Hi, I don't often look at my mobile bill as I just assume it's roughly the same each month; occasionally I might accidentally send a picture message to an android phone and get a 95p charge, but I have just looked at my current bill and previous ones and it seems voice notes are charged as picture messages, even though when you Google if they're charged the same it says no. Also I can't find anywhere on the tariff page any price for sending voice notes. I believe they may be classed as MMS but I can't find them on the list either. I had no idea you got charged for sending voice notes to an android phone. Can anyone else find where it tells me this, as I may just be missing it, and if it's not there and not mentioned surely I have grounds to ask for a refund?
thanks in advance

Re: Sending Voice notes

I'm using messages on my iPhone  simply because I didn't know if I was sending one to an android I would be charged. I just can't see it written anywhere? I guess I'll try and remember to use Whatsapp if I need to leave a voice note to someone without an iphone. I'm not a huge fan of voice notes but sometimes I have to message someone while walking my dog and it's easier to just talk to the phone ask also have a walking stick 🤣

Picture messages are listed at 95p.  (Page 2)

You can disable the MMS protocol on your device.

I don't believe you have a strong case for refund unless Sky want to use goodwill.  Although the MMS protocol is for more than just picture messages (but is the most common use).

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

Yes @RebaJane  stick to WhatsApp as they come out of your data allowance or use WiFi. If you are using messages in your iPhone then they will convert to mms if sending to android, that's why you have been charged, sending to iPhone and they would be ok. If UK networks ever get round to enabling RCS on iPhones then iPhone to android would be ok as that would use data, don't hold your breath though !

Re: Sending Voice notes

Thank you! Do you not think that it should be in the usage guide about charging for them though? I couldn't see anything? Though that might just be me 🤣

thanks again

Re: Sending Voice notes

Thank you. The fact you've found it means I won't bother about asking for a refund; I just couldn't see it listed.
