SIM

I have a phone from Sky.  When I put my current SIM card in the new iPhone X delivered from SKY, the phone will not connect to the network to allow my to make phone call etc.  The phone is not locked.  Why will my SIM card not work in the phone?

When was this phone delivered?  iPhone X's haven't been sold for years...

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

No.  The SIM card is from my current phone.  Provider Tesco O2.  For some reason my current SIM card will not connect to a network.  Tesco has said that the phone could have been barred.
