Roaming in Turkiye; Problems
I'm in Turkiye, I have a Sky Ireland SIM.
For months, I could connect automatically when roaming here.
This all changed when I returned to Turkiye ,from the EU, on December 1st; I lost all connectivity to local mobile networks.
5 days later, following numerous WhatsApp messages, over WIFI, I got connected BUT it lasted only days.
Now, I have lost connectivity again.
I have 5 bars showing, but can't make/receive calls.
I can send/receive SMS, but NOT voice calls.
I followed ALl of the Sky suggestions, but to no avail.
I've now been informed that it may take from 3 to 6 days to resolve the matter, i.e., all over Christmas.
Any suggestions?

So what have you tried, spend cap settings ?

I doubt anything will be resolved in 3-6 days as some advisors do tend to trot out timescales like that for no apparent reason.

I'd observe that 'roaming' isn't intended to last 'for months': it's supposed to be a temporary facility.

Re: Roaming in Turkiye; Problems
Hi ,
Roaming occurs when a phone is connected to a network other than the home network and it is irrelevant how frequently that occurs!
I have worked/lived across borders for years and never had difficulties when I used Vodafone, Orange, O2 etc.
Problems ONLY when I switched over to Sky!

Re: Roaming in Turkiye; Problems
@Clifden I seem to remember there were changes made to roaming where you can only roam for a maximum of 63 days in a 4 month period (this could apply to EU roaming? I am not sure if it's total roaming? ) could you have reached this ?

Re: Roaming in Turkiye; Problems
Hi 63,
Thanks for the info, I'm unaware of such a restriction on roaming. Is there such a regulation/condition?
However, it's not applicable as the problem occurred on entering Turkiye from an EU state.
Furthermore, I usually have an 'out of state' phone on Airplane mode when travelling and would never accumulate 63 days in 4 mths.

If you google "63-day limit on mobile roaming limit" @Clifden there are lots of articles on it.

I suspect it's duration rather than accumulation: have you used the SIM in the country where the subscription address is located within that time? That's typically how time restrictions get reset.
