Roaming charges abroad

Hi all. Im after information on roaming charges abroad. I'm travelling to Tanzania dk I need to put a roaming cap on ? How does all this work ? Does it use my data in my phone bank Thanks

Daughter in Egypt, just landed saying data roaming at 45 pound already. Can't seem to find the price per day for data

Page 12 is what you are looking at to see this.

For data it is £2.16 per MB, not GB so it does work out as being really expensive which will be why she has already racked up £45 in charges.

Also have a look at both the call charges including for receieving and the cost to send a text message.

If she is going to be there a while she would be better off picking up and using a local sim while out there.

That's correct, but the confusion arises from the £2 per 24 hours charged for mobile access in countries covered by a roaming agreement.

I'm afraid not as Tanzania falls under "Rest of the World" charges as per this:

So you will be charged for each calls you make, each text you send and for using mobile data when you are online so it will work out as being really expensive as the charges are:

£2.16 per MB (not GB)

£2.36 per minute for calls to Iocal or UK mobiles and landlines

£1.80 per minute for receieving a call.

50p per text to local or UK mobiles.

58p per picture message to UK mobile

So if you can I would use Wifi or pick up and use a loacl sim while out there and make sure data and roaming is off before you leave the UK.
