Quick Transfer for Apple devices

What is Quick Transfer?

 

Quick Transfer lets you move your Sky eSIM or physical SIM (pSIM) from one eligible Apple device to another—wirelessly and effortlessly. Your SIM will be installed as an eSIM on your new device, and your old SIM will be deactivated automatically.

 

What You’ll Need

To use Quick Transfer, make sure you have: Not all devices are compatible. Quick Transfer won’t work with:
  • An active Sky Mobile plan with a Sky-purchased SIM or eSIM
iPhone XR / XS / XS Max
  • Two Apple devices (your old and new one)

iPhone SE (2nd gen)

 

  • iOS 18 or later installed

iPad (8th & 9th gen)

  • eSIM compatibility (iPhone 11 or newer)

iPad mini (5th gen)

  • Both devices signed in with your Apple ID

iPad Air (3rd gen)

  • Bluetooth and WiFi turned on

iPad Pro 12.9" (3rd gen)

   iPad Pro 11" (1st gen)

 

How to Use Quick Transfer

 

  1. Keep both devices close together and connected to WiFi.
  2. Make sure your old device is unlocked and signed in to your Apple ID.
  3. During setup of your new device, follow the on-screen prompt to transfer your SIM.
  4. Already set up your new phone? Go to Settings > Mobile Service > Add eSIM.
  5. Tap Transfer from Nearby iPhone, select your number, and confirm the transfer on your old device.

That’s it! Your new device will be ready to go in minutes.

 

Troubleshooting Tips

 

Transfer didn’t work?
Double-check your device and plan eligibility above. If you're still stuck:

  • pSIM to pSIM: Just move the SIM card to your new device.
  • eSIM to eSIM: You may need to order a replacement eSIM.

Service still active on your old phone?
Try the transfer again. If it fails a second time, request a replacement eSIM.

No service on either device?
It could be a network issue. Try again later or insert your pSIM into the new device if supported.

 

Convert Your SIM to eSIM

 

Want to switch from a physical SIM to an eSIM on the same device?

  1. Go to Settings > Mobile Service.
  2. Tap Convert to eSIM and follow the prompts.
  3. Once complete, your old SIM will be deactivated—just restart your device.

Can't see the option? Sign in to your Sky account and head to SIM options to convert.
