QR Scam
Hi I recently recieved a phone call from 'Sky' explaining as I had been a loyal customer and never missed a payment we can offer you 40% off your Sky bill.It was from an Asian gentleman and I initially thought he meant my tv package. So after the call I rang Sky to explain and could they confirm that this was genuine.Unfortunately I spoke to another Asian gentleman and had trouble explaining about the call and the offer. He immediately put me on hold and said he'd look into my account for any discount or offers available to me.After a couple of minutes he came back and said sorry there is nothing we can do to reduce your bill.I then told him I was happy with the services and the monthly amount I was paying. He wished me a good day and that was that.Shortly after I recieved another phone call from 'Sky' this time an English gentleman explained that because I had been a loyal customer they would send me an Apple watch. A couple of days went by and I recieved 2 Apple i phones in the post.I had another phone call saying that I had recieved someone elses order by mistake and could I return the package to a Post Office using the QR code they sent to my phone. At this point I did not suspect anything and took the package to the local PO and they scanned the QR code and took the package. This was an elaborate scam as I have now been advised.Waiting for Sky investigation team to contact me.Another thing was when I reported this to Sky the person has told me that someone will be contacting me within 24-48 hours. As a huge company I was a bit surprised why I was not put through to the relevant dept.immediately as this was an obvious scam.

Re: QR Scam
Sadly the "we can offer you 40% off your bill" calls get reported on here frequently as they are scam calls and as they probably come from abroad there is little Sky can do about them so what personal information did you give them ?

Re: QR Scam
What personal info did I give them? Are you having a laugh?I didn't give them any personal info whatsoever.Somehow they had my address and postcode. They somehow placed an order using my details and got the iphones sent to my home address.Sky needs to update their security if its that easy to con them.

Re: QR Scam
Good morning, I have recieved lots of calls claiming to be from Sky Mobile, it is always from an 0203 number, it is an Indian male offering me a brand new sim and phone for £30 per month, I told him I could not afford that, then he pushed me for a £6 sim only, when I said I would go on the Sky app he put the phone down, every time I block the 0203 number, they always call from a different one. I have blocked it numerous times.

Re: QR Scam
Sadly there is nothing can do unless your phone has an option to block unknown numbers but even doing this could mean that calls from doctors, dentists and the like could get blocked as well.
Next time they call again do speak to them, just hang up.

Re: QR Scam
The block unknown callers is an option on the iPhone as I believe it blocks numbers that are not in your contact lists. You might also have an option to go to your call history on your phone to report the numbers as spam,
