Problems with phone in Japan

Arrived in Japan and received the welcome text. Nevertheless phone not allowing calls or texts in or out. WiFi ok and mobile data seems ok if not excruciatingly expensive. Any ideas?

Hi @Mike329  have you reached your spend cap as that would stop you making calls etc. with the cost of data there then reaching any spend cap will happen quickly.

Hi @MarysLittleLamb  Japan is no longer showing as a roaming destination with sky so this could be the issue ?

Re: Problems with phone in Japan

Quick Google confirms this:

As of 19 February 2026, roaming in Japan has been blocked for Sky Business Mobile users until further notice.

Not sure why Sky has done this though!

Re: Problems with phone in Japan

Surprised and shocked that sky cannot get a single roaming agreement in place for Japan!

Yes @MarysLittleLamb  it does seem strange that there is no agreements in place any longer. May change in the future but who knows what goes on behind these decisions ?
