Phone not taking sim

Purchased a handset back in may, already had a sim card, thought all sky phones were unlocked now but it wont accept the sim. Its impossible to get hold of anyone on the phone to talk about this and there is no help online

Phones supplied by Sky are unlocked.  What does 'won't accept' mean?

Yes thought they were all unlocked. I've tried putting a sim in there from old phone which is an ee sim only contract but the phone wont work with it in

What network sim card are you trying to use in the phone ?

What phone do you have ?

Has it previously had a Sky sim in it ?

Its a sim from EE

Phone is a Samsung A37 and hasn't had a sim in before, i just purchased handset only

And when you put the EE sim in it what actually happens, so if you see a message word for word what does it say ?
