Pen pro pairing

I purchased a IPad Air with a pen pro and the pencil won't pair

Many thanks for the replies I have a compatible iPad still not being picked up by Bluetooth only had it delivered late Saturday along with the iPad.

spoken with apple and they want me to either take to Manchester or pay a standing fee of £100 so they can replace it surely sky need to replace given only just purchased ?
