i am in USA and can't make local usa calls even though my data is on why isn't it free or using my data i have it cost £10 for 30 seconds

Making local calls in the USA is charged at international rates.  (You cannot use data to make calls)

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

The only free calls you can make are the same as if you were in the UK, so calls to UK landlines and mobiles.
