Old number not been transferred

My dad has just transferred over to sky from Vodaphone. He entered a PAC number from vodaphone to keep his old number 
He activated the new sim on sat, received a txt from sky to say new phone number is xxx,  he still not got his old number back this is now Tuesday 

how long should this take please ?

Did he give Sky the pac code he obtained from Vodafone on Saturday because if he did then as number transfers do not take place at the weekend it will be as if he gave Sky the pac code on Monday so all being well the number should transfer sometime today.

Once you've received a txt/email saying the number has ported then you may need to do a Network reset on the phone or change the phone number to yours from the temporary number.
