No support for premium / short code texts + other issues

Been chasing Sky for months about this issue. Since moving to Sky in November '24, I've not been able to send an SMS to short code / premium numbers. Was able to do fine before when I was with Vodafone. For example, I used to be able to pay for parking by text and check One4All balances etc.

Anyway finally got an update after 4 days (!) of back and forth on WhatsApp, going through the same mind-numbing troublshooting steps. Update is Sky don't support these numbers currently, and there is no timeline to when they will. I find this a bit concerning. Would not have switched if I knew they would have fundamental problems like this. Has anyone else come across this issue and / or response?

Also had issues getting connected to the network when I went abroad AND came home to Ireland. Never experienced these issues before, and the helpline / support was just a waste of time. Takes ages to go through and the troublehsooting Qs they ask are not helpful. They don't seem to listen when you tell them you've tried all steps etc.

I had significant problems switching to Sky, with them having incorrect data on me and 'blacklisting' my number, which they recognised and gave me credit on my account as good will gesture. 2 months later, credit is still not on the account and I've had to chase this. So nothing but nightmares since day 1 if I'm to be honest. Rant over...

Anyone expect that things will get better or worse? Is it better to switch or give them a chance to sort all this out?

Yes I have similar issue, recently moved to Sky and can't send texts to premium numbers, nothing to do with caps. I'm concerned on what you say about using overseas and returning to Ireland. What's the issue and what's the fix? Thanks

It seems they are not supported currently.  Therefore there's no fix...

Many thanks. What about going overseas, previous user had said they had issues with both using phone abroad and on return to Ireland? Thanks

Roaming is supported.  Many issues are often device configuration (such as roaming set to abroad when at home)
