No data during call or after a call - Ireland

I recently switched to the Sky Sim only 15e for life.  But have been having problems since day 1.

If I make a call, I have no concurrent data connection - the Sim settings do not have options for WIFI calling or VoLTE for calls

After any mobile call is finished, the data connection doesn't exist, I have no internet connection displayed in the browser so I am forced to reboot the phone to restore the data despite the indicator on the phone showing 4g

Did you receive an answer to this as I have the same issue with sky on oneplus, very annoying and it doesn't work for so long after the call finishes

I have just been on the phone with a representative of sky in the offshore region.  As the process of actually communicating with an agent via the Web chat is frustrating.  Needless to say after several attempts to make data work  during the call I was advised to remove the Sim, wipe the contacts with a clean cloth, reinsert the Sim and the issue should be resolved in several hours.  Now I work in IT and for the most part a large percentage of issues are resolved with a reboot, I'm likening this to the reboot fix, which it is nothing like.

Great. So basically the advice offered was of little help? Considering it's not an isolated incident, I imagine it's a bigger issue than the contacts needing a wipe down.

I'm not sure whether it is the lack of a 3g service (as VF killed 3g this year) and therefore dropping down to the 2g network.  But I am calling while on 5g so I'd have thought that 4g would be available for the data connection if there is a necessity to drop in the absence of VoLTE for the sim

I've had this problem since the moment I switched to Sky mobile.

 

On OnePlus phone calls are dropping to 2g and not reconnecting afterwards

 

 

It's to do with the carrier services app on Android. Sky Mobile Ireland are not added to this yet so the app that dictates what services your Android can use has no info on sky.

 

Sky need to get themselves added by Google as an MVNO before our phones will work correctly.

 

This update has already been done for Samsung and Apple

I am also having this issue since switching to Sky Mobile in October.

 

When I end a phone call it says I have 5g however to begin to using the Internet etc. I have to restart my phone completely. Once my year long contract is up I will be switching back to my previous provider. 

 

I have contacted customer care several times and none of the advice has worked! So frustrating!!

Android hasn't been added to the sky service list, so all android phones are going to have issues with sky mobile

No nothing has worked except turning my phone on and off again...even at that it might not work... I loose Internet connection at random times but always after a call...if you find anything that works let me know please 🙏🏻
