I got an iPhone 15 plus in nov 2023 from sky mob. It's always had 4g or 5g ticked in settings (as no option on it for 3G or volte toggle - not sure uk iPhones have those options now) and I've had patchy reception in my house but getting worse now as a lot of the time none at all (even though sky says my area is fine ofc.
my query is: it's picking up 3G which I only realised when I switched wifi off and mob data on. It's picking up 3G whether 4/5g selected in settings.
im now thinking maybe it was always a 3G signal.
I can't open many apps on mobile data other than s/m.
I never see 4g on screen and only see 5g outside my house but it reverts to 3g.
im in an area where 3g hasn't been switched off yet but when it does I guess no signal at all..
sky say it's all to do with my house. But I'm wondering why if it drops out of 5g it doesn't go to 4g, but straight to 3?
sky been no use at all. I read online that some iPhone 15s were needing carrier to send updates or codes for volte/4g but sky said they didn't send things like that.
is it my phone? Is it that I just live in what may aswell be a cave? My neighbour can get 5g outside but they are different network and phone. I cannot get 5g indoors and only for a short spell outside. I'm not technical and I'm worried. Any ideas why it goes to 3G and never shows 4g? Anyone else have this with iPhone 15 plus? Thanks.
