@WNeil Welcome to our world! It's an absolute nightmare isn't it. Am coming into my 3rd week now. I managed an online chat with the techies, "have you switched your phone off then back on again", "wait 2-3 days", "wait 24hrs". Real high tech stuff!!! It would be nice to hear from anyone who does manage to get through to a member of Sky Mobile staff, no one has ever answered any of my many emails. It was even suggested that I phone them.......how exactly??!! It would be good to hear from anyone who has gone through a similar situation to ours and has come out the other side with a fully functioning mobile allowance.

@LeedsRhinos2023 It's good to hear that you have found a good network provider with EE. Once you've encountered the issues we've all had with Sky Mobile it can be daunting to make the jump to another provider you haven't used. Sounds like EE might end up picking up the customers Sky cannot be bothered with.

Mine is working now!!!
I saw someone had suggested putting the sim in an old phone so I did that but nothing seemed to happen. When I went to settings > about phone it was still saying phone number uknown.
BUT when I put my sim back in my current phone I got a text from Sky saying they would send handset configuration and to enter pin 1111. So I went through that and now I can finally make calls! I'd already done the configuration when I put the sim in for the first time a few days ago, but at that point my number hadn't transferred over. I wonder if doing the config after the number transfer is what got it working? Strangely it still says phone number unknown in my settings but everything is working fine now (calls, texts and data). I've got an Andriod.
I messaged Sky a couple days ago and never heard back from them. The customer service is so shocking I was planning to leave but now that my phone is working I think I'll stick around and see how it goes.... I couldn't see a better deal anywhere else anyway. I'd been going to get Sky broadband as well but after this I definitely won't be!
Fingers crossed my calls keep working.... I'm still a bit skeptical!

Well, I am in exactly the same boat. Incredibly frustrated and bemused as to how this situation arose and how there is no ETA on a fix! Apparently I am due for a call back (Ha! how the chuff will they do that??!!) on the 19th June.
I was also told that should I opt to leave I will not be able to get a PAC until they have resolved the issue.

Word of warning, if you stick around to see how it goes - when you go over your cooling period you will be tied into the contract EVEN if there's issues

@LeedsRhinos2023 I'm keeping my eye on the days. It is supposed to be a 30 day cooling off period with their sims. I'm not taking that as gospel though! Has anyone tried popping into their shops/pop ups? I'm thinking of heading to one tomorrow to see what they have to say about it.

@Sarah254 That's good news. Looks like you're one of the lucky ones!

@Lee1976 What you were told about not getting a PAC code is rubbish. I logged into my billing/problems etc (using home wifi!) and were able to click on the 'thinking of leaving' and requested a PAC code that way, I would receive texts so that was OK., and I did get the PAC code through. If you look back in this thread I went through it with someone else and it worked for them too. Please let us all know if you manage to get a call back, am coming into my 3rd week now with no call back/email/message from anyone on any level, other than a scammer. Mind you, they were very polite and I entertained the conversation until they became a little fed up! It's the little things that count 🤣🤣🤣

I'm wondering if it would be easier to request a replacement SIM card and just change my number, even though that would be such a faff!
it seems the number porting is the problem

Sky said "Whilst we hope that you decide to retain your service with Sky we do appreciate that the fault may result in you making this decision. If you do decide that you want to cancel, then we would be unable to arrange a PAC until the known issue has been resolved, if this falls out-with your cooling off period then we would exempt you from any early termination fees."

That is **bleep**&T from Sky.
I cancelled and rejoined EE and Sky Cancellation Team sent me the PAC number

I spoke to one of the Pop UP Shops, they just said they've had people saying the same thing and suggested they call sky mobile. The shops can't help

@LeedsRhinos2023 Thanks, you've saved me what would have been a wasted journey. Am starting to think anything related to Sky Mobile is a complete waste of time, effort & money!
