New Sim on same network

Why can I not keep my old number on a new sim when I'm already with Sky? I've seen a few discussions about having to transfer to another network then back again which seems absolutely ridiculous in this day and age. I just want the cheaper deal they are offering.

Numbers can not be transferred between sims when on the same network so the posts you have seen about moving the number out to a different network and back again is the only way around it if you want to continue using the same number.

Oh well looks like we will just have to cancel then. Can't run a business with no phone for a week while computers faff about playing ping pong with something that should take seconds.

For information @ClaireM1073 it's the same on all networks.

Unfortunately that doesn't mean it should be. It is discriminating against long term customers who can't get the good deals.
