@198.168.0.1 Did the info ask you to click on any links to remove the infection or ask for payment? If so then its highly likely to be a app generating malware(viruses are extremely rare on mobile devices )or trying to get you to pay for a removal service that will remove nothing.

Depening on which device you have it may be worth installing malwarebytes(other apps that do the same are available) and letting it run to see if it identifies anything, if it does it should give you the option to remove it or quarantibne it so it can't run anymore, the other options are to remove any recently installed apps to see if that solves the issue or a full factory reset.

@198.168.0.1  What makes you think your device has been infected and compromised?

Re: Mobile issues infected & compromised despite having protection installed. Infected by viruse

In trying to resolve the issue I have now shut down my mobile. In trying to resolve the issue by removing the links I am informed that the virus exceeds 200 & multi-destinations are involved including Iran, India, China & others. I have tried to remove the issues bu it keeps on escalating. I am now desperate for help & advice!

Sounds like a full factory reset and restore from your last secure backup would be the way forward.

Absolute nonsense, being generated with the specific intention to scam you.  Attempting to induce panic by using such (frankly ridiculous) language is very much one of the scammers hallmarks: legitimate antivirus does not do so.

Typically the code generating the bogus pop-up screens will be embedded an app which you chose to install for a legitimate purpose, or is being served into a web browser: it's undoubtedly annoying but only actually dangerous (financially speaking) if you comply with the scammers intent.

There basically are no actual 'viruses' (self-replicating software) for current smartphone operating systems: unfortunately malware generating fake virus alerts is extremely widespread, as are websites hosting browser pop-ups with the same malicious intent.

Suggestions are -

App malware: delete any free apps (such as torch apps, QR scanners, or free games) which you installed right before these messages started.

Browser pop-ups: Go to your phone settings, find your browser (Chrome/Safari), and clear the history and cache to stop the pop-up from reappearing.

Never click or pay: Do not tap any buttons or links on the alert, and never provide personal or financial information.
