Moving BT Mobile sim to Sky Mobile

For the love of god, I really can't believe the palava I'm going through with Sky today. For a bit of info, I'm doing this to help some elderly relatives who are completely tech incompetent, thats putting it mildly, so I offered to help them change. So they have two BtMobile sims currently out of contract, we spoke to someone in Sky on the phone last week sounded Indian, not in the Uk could barely understand them and a terrible line, and two Sky sims turned up by post after a couple of days.

i went over today to set them up for them, only to run into a brick wall when trying to register them, I logged onto their Sky ID on the website and started the sim registration process only to fail at the point where you link the sim to your existing Sky account, somehow or other it seems whoever set the info up in Sky's systems didn't link them to the account so when I filled in the bank account info to link them it said the account was wrong and wouldn't go any further.

Then spent an hour on the phone again, sounded abroad, trying to get through to someone who knew what they were doing only to be told the sims we'd been sent weren't on the system, and we'd need to be sent some more.  At this point I had to hand them back to my aged relative who hasn't got a clue what's going on, he now has four emails with mobile contracts on top of the two from last week, and to add to that after an hour on the phone we got cut off while on hold. Are Sky really this bad now, the people we were speaking to seemed downright incompetent. Sorry to vent but I deals with mobiles for work and wouldn't put up with this sort of **bleep** there.

@Roger117

I would suggest calling again tomorrow and see if you can speak to Sky's ID team who might be able to help with this.

Hi @Roger117  yes but there is no way of specifically speaking to them, you get the first available agent in whatever call centre is first.

Re: Moving BT Mobile sim to Sky Mobile

Just an update on this one, still not resolved, I got on a webchat with Sky on Monday, and spent another hour and a half going through what had happened previously, and ended up going through re ordering two more sims. Result, no sims have arrived, so that's six so far, the first two actually did arrive, but didn't appear to have been linked to the Sky account  so we couldn't set them up, two more which we got cut off on the phone while on hold, after god knows how long being transferred around various people at Sky. And the last two, which haven't arrived  after 5 days wait. I'm of the conclusion that Sky mobile are completely incompetent. Stay away people and don't waste your time. I'm at the point where I'm going to raise a complaint tomorrow, but expect this to get lost in the ether too. Not impressed.

Re: Moving BT Mobile sim to Sky Mobile

When I recently needed to recontract I took advice from a friend and when I phoned Sky I did not specify whether I wanted to speak re Mobile or whatever, just said nothing and eventuall I was put through to a UK call centre.

Worth a try or alternatively lookup Ceo email address and email them.
