Mis Sold contract

I called SKY today about getting a PAC code, which is in another post...the customer service person congratulated me on being a 10 year plus Sky VIP and offered me 20% off my phone bill.

The first question I asked "Does that mean you have to renew or extend my contract?"

No was the response, it's just 20% off. I said sure then.

2 mins later I received an email thanking me for a new 12 month contract on my phone.

This practice is illegal. They obtained this by deception. There is a cooling off period but I can't contact Sky as all their phone lines are down for training. 
This practice should be reported. We have enough issues with hackers and criminals taking from us without genuine companies doing EXACTLY the same thing.

i will be leaving Sky as a result of this but wanted to make people aware, they are lying to you and deceiving you.

This gives Sky 8 weeks to resolve this issue and if they do not you can ask for a deadlock letter to take it further
