I cannot access business services via text message since moving to Sky mobile.

Hi, I use a service that charges per text but since joining Sky Mobile I can no longer access it. I am told by the business I have no credit. I have a monthly contract with no spending limits which is similar to what I had before I moved to Sky. Any suggestions how I can use text business services please, personal text messages are fine.
Thank you.

@annoyed01534  If your previous mobile service allowed you to add charges to your bill you should be aware this isn't something Sky allow.

Hi @annoyed01534  if you have no monthly limit set have you tried setting one ? As if the messages are chargeable then they won't go through if your spend cap is set at zero.

Re: I cannot access business services via text message since moving to Sky mobile.

Do you mean Sky do not allow business text messages?
I pay for a service I cannot access in that case as all the other mobile services I have used allowed same.
Even TV programmes state text a number to apply for competitions etc and I cannot.

I wonder why they ban this when I authorise extra payments on my account.
ps Thank you for replying I will contact Sky re: cancelling my contracts.

Hi @annoyed01534  have you checked your spend cap as I suspect what @GD1  is referring to is different to your issue ?

@annoyed01534  What I'm referring to for example if you used Google play to purchase an app you could charge it to your mobile bill rather than use a debit card.

I'm not sure if this is how your business text service works?

That would do if:

It is the company that sends them charges you directly and doesn't charge you via your network operator so in this case Sky so how are you charged ?

Re: I cannot access business services via text message since moving to Sky mobile.

Hi, thanks for your reply.
I have checked online and the short code texts are allowed with Sky but I cannot find out why I can't access them so I will have to ring. Sadly the last time I spoke to Sky both agents told me conflicting advice so they are not as knowledgeable as I would like.
Thanks for replying, I appreciate your help.

I am charged via my phone account as an extra charge. The business is telling me that I have run out of credit on my phone and need to put money on my phone but I have a monthly contact with no limits and other charges go through fine just not short text numbers.

Sky don't do that I'm afraid.  Your business text service should allow you to setup a debit card payment?

By "phone account" do you mean your provider like Sky ?

Sorry @annoyed01534  but have you checked your monthly spend cap is set high enough ?

I don't believe this is a spend cap issue but a charge that is added to your bill, similar to how Google play works, if your mobile provider allows it you can add the purchase to your mobile bill, this is how I'm reading the OP's issue with the Business Text service.

Re: I cannot access business services via text message since moving to Sky mobile.

I have no idea why as it's a text service other providers allow. It's a text message business for a reason which charges similar to roaming.
If they don't allow I will change service providers as others allow same.
I will call tomorrow.

I have checked and friends with O2, EE and  BT can use the service so will ask Sky tomorrow why I can't.
Thanks.
