If a Direct debit is set up then you don't need to make a manual payment.

I know if a direct debit is set up you don't have to make a manual payment I wanted to pay my phone off so I don't have anymore bills for it as I also have sky Tv and broadband so my mobile bill was paid off in full but Sky still took my direct debit out I'm sure I am entitled to a refund as it's now overpaid

I read your comment as that you'd paid the phone off + paid £8 for something else - data plan perhaps. I apologise if that was a misunderstanding.

Did you make two payments, one for the phone and one against your sim part of the bill as that seems to be what you are saying or did you just make the one payment ?

I paid for my mobile up front I paid £803.00 to clear my phone and pay off they then said I still owe £37.00 so I paid that up as well yet they still took £8 out of my bank on the 4 September

Yes that's right the £7.99 was for sim

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out morePaying your phone off doesn't stop the payments for the sim which is why that £8 was taken. If you have had the sim for 12 months or more then you can call Sky on 150 to ask them to cancel it for you.

Thank you for your reply I also cancelled my sims I spoke to an adviser on the phone and she cancelled the sims she said if sky still take payments they will refund me but they shouldn't take anymore payments

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreWhen did you phone Sky to cancel the sim because the bill would have been created 14 days before it was due to be paid so if that was the case then it will have still been paid.
If you called them 14 days or so before it was paid do you now see a credit for this on your account ?

I spoke to sky on the 28/08/2024

That is because Sky requests the payment 14 days in advance so if you made a payment against the sim on the 28th then you did not need to do this so do you now see a credit on your account ?

Yes I do see a credit on my account thank you for your help today enjoy the rest of your day
