Fake phone delivered vis Sky mobile via DPD

Want to warn other potential Sky customers that there is a scam going on where somehow fake phones are being delivered via DPD that have been ordered via SKY mobile, my son ordered a iphone 15 pro max and on delivery you get your parcel have your picture taken at the door by DPD guy ( is this normal i dont know) and you go indoors and open it. package looked legit and sealed ( but you dont notice until its too late) and inside the box is a cheap chinese iphone knock off!

recognising it wasnt what was ordered my son chased down the DPD driver who naturally denied everything and then went about contacting sky, dpd , police .

The customer service at SKY is bombay call centre they dont do anything properly and my son has been left in limbo and has gone off travelling having no idea what he is coming back to . he is currently paying for 3 phones as he went to bluewater to get a replacement as after looking online this seems to be happening more often and one guy even got a fake replacement..

The phones look legit but have a dodgy android system on them from what i can gather , but if you turn it on and put your details and cards on it .......you can just imagine what will happen with your credit rating  and financial situation .

Be aware people this is happening and as it stand s my son is liable for all 3 phones unless Sky can start actually taking this serious. its all over social media EE, sky, apple phones coming from apple distribution depot via dpd are being switched to fake ones and you wont know until its too late. wake up sky this is actually happening  its sitting here on my worktop waiting to be collected your system has been compromised and to point your finger at the customer is not on !

i will update you when i hear the outcome of the investigation from sky

@webfluid  This is a customer helps customer community, Sky staff here have no access to your account nor will they know who you are.

You need to allow Sky to complete their investigation, no one here can tell you anything about that.

Posting on the community won't get you any contact from Sky as previously advised, no one will know who you are.

staggered there has been no follow up to this by Sky my son has been away 3 weeks now and still no contact via sky or dpd investigation.

(removed)

and the phone is still sitting on our worktop waiting to be collected pending the outcome of an investigation of which we have no idea about due to no contact via sky.

fair enough! you can amend the post  so quickly but not the situation.? no comment , no sorry to hear this just dont say that it is unfounded.

my son is travelling and dreading his retuen to the uk because of this, it is distracting his time away the thought of having 3 phone debits all coming out on the same time but no phone to show for it? i can undestand your edit but unfounded ?

Re: Fake phone delivered vis Sky mobile via DPD

so unsurprisingly sky have taken 3 phone debits from my sons account today. still no contact pending investigation so checking my sons bill for data usage on his new phone all round south east asia where he is travelling and one data usage for the stolen phone on 5th of may in ..... (Removed) ROMANIA!!! despite my son being in asia.

The stolen phone was supposed to be blocked  but i'm guessing that didn't happen until after  it was activated

From all your posts here I gather it is your son who is the account holder. Whilst you are trying to help him whilst he's away Sky are limited in what they can tell you. There's little doubt that the phone has been taken unlawfully but you can't go onto a public forum and start accusing particular people, companies, or their employees of crimes.

Re: Fake phone delivered vis Sky mobile via DPD

sorry i don't agree there ate channels you go through and if you truly believe a call centre in bombay is a help system with folk that don't care one jot,, paying for 3 phones "until the investigation is complete" , leave customers in complete limbo , spend hours trying to get through to "help"spending £££ in foreign countries trying to get through to "help" just for an update.

but as you said clearly something has happened........ personally i'm raging!

Re: Fake phone delivered vis Sky mobile via DPD

although i appreciate your input i'm of the opinion that the more people that know of this the less chance it is likely to happen to them  as it may deter them buying through a system that has clearly been compromised and until sky acknowledge this nothing will be done and having customers having to deal with the stress of going through the correct channels as my son is having to do and at his expense.  ie you keep paying until we can sort this mess out !

Re: Fake phone delivered vis Sky mobile via DPD

I thought best i update on this situation, my son returned to uk dreading this, but after a good few phone calls and a couple of blatent **bleep** ups on Skys behalf this issue of a fake phone being delivered by that trusty company DPD.

it would appear the clown that stole it switched it on before he/she even delivered it , So refunded and contract terminated my son can now move on with his life.

But the fact is this is happening and nobodys doing a thing about it. so may i suggest to anyone renewing their contract and buying an expensive phone, go down to the shop, check the item packaging  thoroughly for tampering and dont risk it with the online stuff as you may get something you dont want and it is a whole world of agravation to resolve with the way sky operate. sorry if you dont like it but thats the truth what an absolute shambles.

Re: Fake phone delivered vis Sky mobile via DPD

That's terrible , if the system is compromised then nobody can be confident of getting the proper device, terrible!

so sorry to hear about your son!  C, mon Sky sit up and take notice, this is not the first time, I've heard of similar situation's!
