Esim on Google pixel 2 watch

I have converted my Google pixel 8 to an esim but cannot get it to connect to my Google pixel 2 watch .says the watch is LTE but just says no comparable esim found .any ideas would be great thanks

Smart watches through Sky are not compatible with esims.
