Data Rollover/Refund

Hello good people I have today done some jogging about on my data plans and ordered a new phone and I have two questions I am looking for definitive answers to.

The first is that I, like it appears others, have been persuaded to minimise both my data plans to 1gb a month and use rolled over data until it runs out. More than happy to do this even if it is a faff but obviously if my data keeps being taking on the year anniversary then that's going to eat it far quicker than me.

I think a good work around is that on the first day of each month I transfer my entire piggy bank across my sims and this means it'll be re-rolled over each month and restart the 12 month clock. Am I correct in approaching this in this way?

Second question is I purchased a new phone and for some reason the first order was cancelled and I had to place it again. I used data both times to reduce the up front payment and I can see on my activity it has taken 50gb each time. Now think about it I don't think the data usage was good value for money but it's done now. My main question at this point is that as sky cancelled the first order I assume I will receive a refund of my up front payment; does this mean I will be refunded one of my 50gb payments or will I need to contact them to nudge them to do this?

Thanks!

You should be refunded that 50GB data you used against the now cancelled order but how long I will take I wouldn't like to guess, refunds for upfront payments can take up to 3 weeks to give you a rough timescale so if it goes beyond that you will have to chase it up with Sky.

Unused data is worth nothing to Sky: they're effectively just cutting their profit margin on the hardware to provide a discount.
