Current Sky customer having Issue with activating new esim

Hope someone can helpI have a Sky mobile account and was sent an option to upgrade my phone. I decided this was a good idea and decided to change data package at the same time. I was asked if I wanted to keep my current number and if I wanted new phone to be sim card or esim. I chose the later and sure enough my new phone turned up. I tried to activate esim as instructed and had an error message come up saying unable to activate. I am now unable to use the new mobile that I purchased and cant get a straight answer on when/if my mobile package has been started/activated. Please help? Thanks

If you wanted to keep your phone number then the only (easy) option is to use your existing SIM/dataplan.

 

Any new plan you purchase will be a new phone number.

 

(If you want to keep your number then you have to port it out of the network and back to the new SIM)

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

If you selected the option to keep your current number then this new data package should have been applied against it and not against a new esim so does your current sim still work ?

I have received my new phone, but unable to use it at present,  the e sim, isn't active
