Complaint About Incorrect Phone Bill Charge

Hi, I recently changed my phone bill payment date to the 1st of each month, which is only 7 days later than my previous payment date because my salary payment date has changed.

However, I noticed on the app that you appear to be charging me almost double my usual monthly payment. I don’t think this is fair, and I won’t be paying an extra amount just because I changed my payment date by one week. I only requested the change so my payments would be made on time and to avoid any missed payments. Could you please explain why I am being charged this amount and correct it if it’s an error?

 Thank you!

@barroso
You aren’t actually contacting Sky by posting here as this is a customer ▶️ customer discussion forum where we try to assist other customers.

When you change the payment date the amount is likely to be greater as the billing period will be for longer than the normal month. Check the dates the bill covers and also check future estimated bills to see if they reflect the amount you're expecting.

Hi @barroso  if you don't pay the extra then chances are your service will be restricted, sky do warn of this when you change the payment date. It's not an error. Non payment of bills is automated and failure to pay triggers an automatic process that leads to restrictions if not paid.

From sky help pages.

"When you change your payment date your next bill might be higher, as it will cover a longer billing period. For example, a month and 10 days."

I presume a device(s) on are your account?  Changing the payment date can trigger such changes to ensure the repayment term is maintained as agreed.
