Changed providers

I was with sky mobile 2 years ago and have since switched but kept my sky mobile number, i am trying to get a short code verification text currently and have had no luck, i got told to check with my service provider currently and they do not block them, ive restarted my phone, ive done all the steps etc, i looked up if having an old sky mobile number changes things and found a couple forum posts saying yes, i tried to talk to an agent and got 0 help whatsoever as i am not currently a customer, sky mobile blocks short code texts and i need the code

If you have transferred your mobile to a different network then it is then that you need to speak to about this.

These posts you have read were from people who were a Sky Mobile customer who were having issues but as you have gone elsewhere they would not apply to you.

@beth52564  As Sky no longer provide your mobile service then the issue isn't with Sky, your number has been ported to your current provider, it's no suprise they won't help.

Certain short code number weren't supported on the Sky Mobile network itself, however you're no longer on the Sky mobile network so it would ne nigh on impossible for Sky to block short codes with another provider.

It's going to be down to your current provider to sort out.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

Fair enough but what myself and @GD1 @applies in that you are not with Sky now so this isn't a Sky issue as they have no control or say over your number what do ever do you need to talk to whoever you are with.

Possibly but as you are not with Sky Mobile this is irrelevant.

Being previously with Sky Mobile is irrelevant too.

As noted, only your current provider can assist - it has nothing to do with Sky Mobile now...

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own
