Change in data plan and bill amendmemts

My August bill was higher than expected. The data plan was changed on the 8/8 from 10Gb @ a discounted £7 per month to 40 Gb @ @ discounted £9 per month.

a charge of 9.87 is included for 22/7-7/8 for 40Gb (17 days) at the full, undiscounted rate of £18. This is an error as the 40Gb plan did not commence until 8/8.
the charge for 22/7-7/8 should be 10gb at the discounted rate of £7 i.e £3.84.

there is therefore an overcharge in August of £6.03.
Please confirm and action a credit for £6.03 in my September bill

@Maria193  No one can cofirm or action anythuing as this is a customer helps customer community, you're not contacting Sky customer services by posting here.

These are the current methods for contacting Sky. (Depending on your reason for making contact some methods will be more appropriate than others) …

🔶📞 Customer Services by dialling 150 (free) from either a Sky mobile or your Sky Talk landline.

All calls will start automated which may offer you the online help route or try to send you here to the forum. Stay on the line as long as possible and saying nothing when asked the reason for the call sometimes helps being put in the queue for an agent.

Note: if your services are restricted due to a missed payment phone contact is unlikely to work.

🔶online help via this link
https://www.sky.com/help
If necessary a number may be visible at the end of the correct help flow.

🔶 Sky Assistant should also be available via
https://www.sky.com/help
for most service issues and gives you 24/7 help and a quick response. It should provide you with multiple choice options based on your problem and will provide troubleshooting steps to fix any service issues.

🔶Social Media You can also get in touch via the messaging services on: Facebook, Instagram, or X (links at the bottom of the forum page).

Note If you’re in the ROI make sure the flag in the bottom right of the link is showing the correct flag and change if required.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

You're not contacting Sky here - just other customers...

My August bill was higher than expected. The data plan was changed on the 8/8 from 10Gb @ a discounted £7 per month to 40 Gb @ @ discounted £9 per month.

How was this change made?  As discounted plans are usually only for new additional SIMs.

Although, Sky's billing system can be hard to follow it's usually correct, especially if future bills are as expected.  (I seem to recall increasing a data limit does backdate - both the cost and data allowance)

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers
