Can you get a pager or bleeper to alert you to phone notifications?

Does anyone know if you can get a pager or bleeper to alert you to phone notifications, please? 🙏🏼 

When my daughter is at her Dad's I need to know if there are any notifications on my phone because they could be urgent. But I can't hear my phone in my handbag.

At the moment I take my phone out and have it on the table in front of me, but obviously that could be impractical at work, or look rude in social company, and could be risky to have such a valuable item out, it also means everyone could see everything that comes through to my phone.

Is there any way I could link my phone to a pager or something like that, so I could just keep the pager out or on my person instead?

Just a thought, but isn't that the kind of thing which should be possible to some degree by combining a smartphone with a smart watch?

Yes @TimmyBGood  you could use a smart watch set to vibrate when messages received. 👍🏼

I don't need all the many many things offered by a SmartWatch, I just want something really simple, and cheap, to know when I've had WhatsApp notifications.

Does anyone know of anything like that?
