My son is going on a school trip to France and still wants to have access to his phone. He is on a Sky Contract, will his contract automatically start charging the £2.00 per day when he uses his phone or do I have to get it set up to start on a certain date.

This is what will happen so as soon as ge makes a call, sends a text message or uses more than 10mb of mobile data then the £2 daily charge will start.
