Bought new phone but won’t be home for delivery

I have just bought a new IPhone but I won't be home for delivery. I physically cannot be home for delivery as I work long days away from home and don't get home until 6.30. The email says proof of ID needs to be shown and that the phone needs to be signed for. Can I leave my ID with my partner in the house to sign for it? As there is no way of me being around to accept the delivery.

@Jx2

It will be up to the courier if they will ask for ID and if they do we can't say for sure if they will accept you leaving your ID with your partner.

If someone in your home has the same surname as you and has their own ID tjen

thus should be accepted.

Hi @Jx2  sometimes they don't ask for ID. If they do ask they may or may not accept your ID with your partner, it will depend on the delivery driver. If someone else with the same surname as you is there they can use their ID.
