Activating a first SIM card

Hi, I ordered a first SIM card. It arrived a couple of weeks ago, tried activating it today but it says bill not ready and try back later. Refresh in 39 days. Do I really have to wait 6 weeks ? Or have I missed some unmentioned activation window and need to order a fresh card ?

How long have you had this sim as you have 30 days to activate it so you might want to call Sky to get them to do it for you if you are unable to.
