Sky stream / sky go

Hi

I have sky stream and want to download some films etc on my iPad and mobile. When I try to do this via my sky go it comes up with this message ? It worked perfectly when I had sky Q

the tech team are saying that as there is no hard drone as such on the sky stream you can't download on iPad ? Does this sound correct??
any help would be much appreciated

Re: Sky stream / sky go

Yes that's correct. On your stream box just search for it and the episode will be there ready to stream, no need to download to a HDD

Re: Sky stream / sky go

But you should be able to download episodes to your iPad or phone still. The message implies you need to set a pin first.

Re: Sky stream / sky go

You would like to think so but have changed pin reloaded both apps on iPad and iPhone with no joy.

sky tech seem to think that you can't download on the devices from sky stream only from sky q but they were very unsure which I find amazing

Re: Sky stream / sky go

I've checked mine and I can't download either. Odd. This might be better in the Go forum than stream, maybe a moderator can move it for you.

Perfect. Downloads work after using that.

The confusion is likely to be over the terminology.

Sky Q has a hard drive, so it's possible to transfer data files from there to a Go client device over the local network: whether this is a 'download' is debatable.

Sky Glass / Sky Stream has no local storage, so any data arriving into Go is from Sky servers over the internet and that is a 'download'.
