Re: Sky kids app going on 10 june

Loosing the games is a major problem.

Our 3yr old loved them, and got really upset when the app wouldn't work tonight.

She's going to be gutted not having this on her tablet now.

The Sky Go app, not having games, is f'n pointless :@

Yet another in the growing list of reasons to cancel this overpriced crap service

Re: Sky kids app going on 10 june

Agreed what a shame they are getting rid of Sky Kids. It was a great interface for children and safe for them to explore independently.

Now presumably they can only access anything when you are within distance of your sky box and tonight to view something on her tablet it also said it was downloading to our sky box, which we didn't need it to.

I set the profile to be tailored to kids and on the main screen still got lots of not age appropriate content.

At least my daughter is a bit older and can navigate the app but this doesn't work for younger ones.

I do hope something else is in the pipeline???

Absolute joke Sky. I bet they havent discounted customer accounts for a lesser service. To be honest, sky kids was one of the main reasons ive stuck with sky as my kids use it all the time in a safe age appropriate environment. Maybe time to move on from these rip off jokers. 👋

Sky kids

With sky kids ending how can I make sky go only show sky kids? Seems a very odd decision and is making the app unsafe for younger viewers

Re: Sky kids app going on 10 june

I can only add my disappointment to the list. The Sky Go app is jot fit for purpose for use with children!

The Sky kids app allowed children to safely navigate age appropriate content wirh ease. Now (even with changing the appearance to kids tv only) inappropriate content is shown on the front screen.

I doubt Sky will change their stance,  but best to let Sky know our disappointment!

Re: Sky kids app going on 10 june

I add to this disappointment. My 6yo has autism. She has loved the kids app since we purchased her an iPad. Earlier this week she was in meltdown as the app stopped.

have spoken to sky tech and the only age restriction you can add to sky go is a pin. When setting the homepage customisation to kids only and unchecking all other categories it does nothing to the front page, still advertising adult content. Sky go also isn't anywhere near able to be navigated by a child.

all this and the kids add on keeps increasing in price.

Raised my discontent as feedback/complaint but it's not going to get anywhere. You tube kids seems the way forward and cancel kids add on.

Disgusting new content - what are we paying for?

The content now available on sky for kids isn't something I'm happy letting my kids watch. They enjoyed watching YouTube kids and it's a safe way for them to watch - the minecraft videogame series particularly is a disgusting male who screams and shouts and doesn't offer any value at all to my children watching it. In fact it has caused more attitude and arguments. Absoluting appalled with the changes with sky. Is it worth the money anymore?

If a service does  not provide you with what you want then you can always leave. Why pay for a service your not liking?

I don't get why people moan on the forums as it is not like Sky will change just because of the odd forum post

Re: Sky kids app going on 10 june

So a company doesn't hear opinion of customers and act? That is one of the most important characters of a company that provides a service. Hospitality has thousands of paid mystery customers to provide honest feedback. If I ever got less than 90% I would lose all financial bonuses for. 3 months. 2 bad ones for an individual server would be dismissal. Company's act on feedback as do sky but agree it is only a small part of their decisi9ns. Maybe cost being the driving factor. So i have removed kids app from the little ones iPad and replaced with you tube kids and a 3rd party app that is age restricted with an easy to use interface.

So the correct approach is to file a complaint under Sky's complaint process in order to submit this type of feedback or complaint if you are dont happy with the service Sky is providing that you are paying for.

Posting on a public forum will only get the visibility mainly of other customers and not get the feedback to the correct people within Sky.

Re: Sky kids app going on 10 june

I completely agree with you, I have no idea why they have decided to close this app! It makes no sense at all! My son loved playing on the games on there, and they aren't even on Sky Go app, it's just things to watch! Also, even though I have asked for the home screen to be customised to show kids things only, it is still coming up with adult content! I have tried to get more information as to why they have decided to get rid of the Sky Kids app and all I was told is it because they have given us the Sky Kids channel, which is available 24/7. This is no good! I will be deleting this Sky Go ASAP as it is no good!

Re: Sky kids app going on 10 june

So is my little one, he loved playing the Blues Clues baking game! And you can't play games on the Sky Go app, which is what they are recommending we now download instead! It is absolutely appalling they would come to this decision and it makes no sense!
