@Brownie141

This was posted by another member so might be worth a try:

Where is says USERNAME is it the name you use with the PC.

a) Click Start, type 'Firewall' and select Windows Defender Firewall.

b) Top Left of this window, select 'Allow an app or feature through Windows Defender Firewall'

c) Bottom Right, click on 'Allow another app.'

d) Click Browse and Manually navigate to the Sky Go exe file using the

e) "C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Sky\Sky Go\Sky Go.exe" the location of the exe.

d) Add this exe to your list of Firewall exceptions.

e) Check the list and make sure Sky Go is there and it's box is ticked.

Try Sky Go.

Re: sky go not opening on windows get error 001

Same here- It's been working fine on my WIN 11 laptop but since the weekend, I now get 001 when trying to open on the laptop. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and nothing changed.

For note - It opens fine on my mobile and that is the only other device i have Skygo on.

What am I missing to get the app on my laptop running?

Thanks, Mark

Re: Sky go xode 0-01

I am now having this issue also for the last few days. I've followed the advice above checking the firewall allowed apps, deleted cache files (which I saw in another post somewhere),  I don't have VPN and as far as I'm aware don't have adblockers. I've rebooted my laptop, I've even uninstalled rebooted laptop then reinstalled. Uninstalling and reinstalling it works...until I switch my laptop off at night to go to bed and switch it back on the next day and back to square 1 with the same error message. It always tries to do an update first before the message pops up. It's frustrating having to keep uninstalling and reinstalling just to get it to work as it clears my "continue to watch" section and have to hunt out the programmes I was watching again. My laptop has recently had windows updates and I'm trying to remember how it coincided with that - could there be some kind of clash with the recent updates that are causing this? I'm struggling to find any other options that would give me a permenant fix.

Re: sky go not opening on windows get error 001

Have you found a solution yet?

I spent an hour yesterday with Sky chat. They say that they are not trained to fix this and cannot help – try sky community!

I'm running Windows 11 on a desktop. Anyone any solutions?

Tony

Re: sky go not opening on windows get error 001

I'm afraid I've not gotten any solutions. Uninstalling and reinstalling only works temporarily and then it happens again. My next step was to contact sky directly on the chat when I can find time.

Re: Sky go xode 0-01

Hi Dee
I can't even get it to open temporarily.
Yesterday I had an hour on chat to a sky go technicians. He could not solve the problem, he said he was not trained to as that was pretty clueless.
He suggested Sky community.
