Apple manufacturing finished transition from Motorola to Intel in 2006, so that's not an issue.

 

The key factors are the OSX version in use and the specification of the hardware: at approaching a decade old a typical Mac of that vintage is underpowered even compared to a PC of the same age because Apple profit margins have always been somewhat ambitious.
