Sky Go macOS app does not open after latest update.

on the skygoinstaller file you download before you open and run it right click on file and select get info in the menu what opens check the box OPEN USING ROSETTA and then save then run file after

Sky Go v24.1.3-3 now seems to be working on my Intel / Ventura mac.

I did have to manually move the newly downloaded app from '/Users/.../Applications' to the proper location in the '/Applications' folder. Without doing this, the installer was stuck in a loop - automatically reopening the old app version, firing up the separate installer app, downloading the update, quitting itself and then reopening the old app version only to repeat the whole thing over and over and over ad infinitum.

Quitting the installer and moving the newly downloaded Sky Go app myself seems to have stopped this endless loop and the app now apparently runs, as it last did in late May.

Thank you @LimeJelly I have finally done it!
I had no idea about the right click on the file to select the tick boxes for Rosetta + i Like the option to avoid the notch webcam 🙂

@Kerching I spent hours + was v.v. frustrated - BUT It now works.
- I had to find the File in Users (Not Applications)

- then right click on the file to select the tick box for Rosetta (+ i ticked the option to rescale to avoid the notch webcam)

- It then asked me if i wanted to download Rosetta which i did

- Then Sky Go FINALLy downloaded (it's an update download from later on 3rd August 2024

I have been trying to follow the various problems which are now present in this thread and to watch for any new downloads of the Sky Go Mac installer which might get Sky Go working again on my M1 MacBook Air which stopped working when I upgraded Sonoma from 14.5 to 14.6.

There is a later version of the Sky Go installer which installs an app which is dated 2nd August, with version number 24.1.3-3. This opens without crashing on my MacBook AIr M1.

It still installs in my personal applications folder ~/Applications so I moved it to the global Applications folder.

Mine still does not work.  Was working perfectly before Mac OS 14.6 update.  I have downloaded the new version and installed it but still get the same problem.

PC register does not match crashing frame (0x0 vs 0x100B17A78)

Mine is now working.  Turns out that even though I was downloading the installer from the links provided, it was still downloading the old version (probably due to browser cache).  Downloaded in a private browsing session and the new version came down and worked.

Mine still not working. Tried everything that has been offered but frustratingly no change. Looked a bit deeper and found Sky saying that when downloading it is looking for Sky Q. This is something I have recently lost when updating to Sky Glass. I am at a loss now.

The latest version is 24.1.3-3.  This does seem to work (certainly for me).  You could try downloading it again from the SKY website and checking which version downloads.

have tried again today and downloaded the installer and all seems to be working again.

on an M1 Macbook Pro running macos 14.5. no need to run under rosetta (and rightly so!)

Just a quick update, Sky has resolved the issue with the SkyGo app. After downloading and installing it from their site, everything is working perfectly. I didn't need to delete any old files or anything, just downloaded and installed it and it worked flawlessly. Thanks, Sky!
