I have a Windows 11 laptop and I can happily watch Sky live on the Sky Go app when I'm away from home, streaming over Wi-Fi.
However, as soon as I connect an external HDMI monitor/TV, the Sky Go app somehow causes the router to drop the broadband connection. Not the laptops Wi-Fi connection but the router's connection to the internet!
When I disconnect the monitor, the router re-establishes a stable connection.
Has anybody else experienced this and resolved it?

After a great deal of fault tracing, I believe I have found the issue.
Thanks to dale65a for suggesting it could be a hardware conflict of some sort.
Believe it or not, the issue would appear to be the third-party power supply that I was using to power the laptop!
The laptop seemed to like it and would charge at full speed with no 'low power' or 'slow charging' messages.
With the original Dell power supply attached, or with no power supply attached, there is no issue.
At one point it looked like it might be the HDMI cable, so it is worth working through as many permutations of setup as possible, you may just find the right combination for your particular circumstance.

This highly unusual issue, where Sky Go on your Windows 11 laptop causes your router to drop its broadband connection only when an HDMI monitor is connected, points to a rare **hardware/driver conflict** on your laptop. It's likely a complex interaction involving your graphics drivers, Wi-Fi drivers, or even power delivery triggered by the HDCP requirements of Sky Go. To troubleshoot, ensure all your **drivers (graphics, Wi-Fi, chipset) are fully updated**, try different HDMI cables/ports, and test with other DRM-protected streaming apps to isolate the cause. Also, verify network adapter power settings and consider a network reset.

Re: Sky Go causing router to drop internet connection!
Thanks for this interesting reply.
I'm going to investigate this further over the next few days, as and when I have time.
To help me understand:
Is the suggestion that a **hardware/driver conflict** in the laptop is inadvertantly causing the router to **overload** or **reboot**, etc.?
OR
Is the laptop sending a deliberate **signal** because there could be a HDCP/DRM issue?
The laptop is a Dell Inspiron 7630 2-in-1 with all Dell and Microsoft auto updates turned on.

Re: Sky Go causing router to drop internet connection!
This started the next day after I was connected by Sky to fibre optic cabling.
