Big issue here. When I send a record requests via Sky go it sends the request to the SD channel event hough I am on the HD channel on sky gp.
I have tried scratching for any help or assistance and also settings. The vjannle. Numbers correspond but when it records on SKY it only records in SD.
Please help.

If I go to HD only channels none of those appear as HD channels on Sky go.
I can't be the only person to notice this issue.

These are the only channels showing as HD in Sky go. Which is wrong.
At leat it should be clever enough to know that if I send a record request for BBC 1 channel 141 it should record, channel 141 and not the Lower Quality SD equivalent.
Its just not logical.

@Paul+IRE in the UK it is different chanel numbers and most but not all are in HD on Sky go although some of the HD channels on Sky go are in the 800's and not in their regular channel numbers may be worth checking the channels in the 800's on Sky go thats assuming the same happens in Ireland as it does in the UK

Thanks for your help and suggestion. I have checked that and it's similar but the issue is that there is not HD channel listing for these channels on Sky go. Hence the Q box isn't receiving the request for HD record.
When you watch back a recording it doesn't say what number channel it was recorded from.
Its a serious flaw here. I actually thought my TV was broken ad the picture was bad.

This is a known issue with the app that has been present for a while now, so do you have channels 161 and 162 on the app as they might be the SD version of RTE.

Unfortunately I don't have HD versions of the channels on the Go app.
No duplicate channels like you suggested.
Example:- BBC1 match of the day is only visible on one channel which is SD yet the number of the channel it relates to is HD channel on sky Q. If I remote record this I will only get an SD recording. There is no way to get it to record the HD broadcast.
Think in have found a workaround whixh is to search for the programmer not the channel then record that in the other showings. I haven't tried yet but will give it a go.....

You are not prevented it is just that with apps like the Sky Go and Sky+ one the channels are reversed so to remote record in HD you have to find the correct channel, so for me for example to remote record my BBC 2 in HD I have to go to 802 and not 102.

Ok thanks, for me in Ireland, the main channels in HD on the app for remote recording to the Sky Q Box are at 801 to 805 on Sky Go app

Is there a solution to this? I have had a frustrating dialogue with the apps@sky.uk address.
Firstly they called me, but when they couldn't get their head around what I meant they put me on hold and then hung up. They then emailed and said they couldn't get through to me (untrue) on the phone again and wrote this:
To watch BBC channels on Sky Go, you'll need a Sky Q Multiscreen subscription and be connected to your Sky Q box – they aren't available outside your home.
I explained that they'd misunderstood and tried to go through the problem again and this time they replied with:
I would like to inform you that ITV1 you have watch directly ITV1 channel itself we will be not able to help you that.
I just couldn't get them to understand.
