Frankly, I'm fed up with it, may as delete the damn thing, and just use the setting up with the remote for the Q box!

Still not working and no one from Sky seems to care.  Clearly a change made at the Sky infrastructure end that needs reverting .

I'm a Sky VIP and I pay a lot every month for my subscription which I am seriously considering cancelling.

Same here. 

The 'apps tech team' contacted me this morning, they really didn't understand the issue but eventually told me it was because I didn't have Sky Multiroom! 

I told her that was rubbish and she them told me to uninstall and reinstall app then it would work. Obviously not. 

 

When I mentioned it worked fine on my pc she then tried to convince me it was my mobile. 

She has now raised it to a complaint whatever that will do. 

I did mention it worked two weeks ago and it was affecting numourous Sky subscribers.

Just seem to be going round in circles, no-one at Sky are taking ownership of the issue and just passing it around the business. 

Maybe time to contact BBC Watchdog!

Yes that is problem I have sky plus HD and up to 2weeks ago could record using skyplus and sky go now got nothing if you loose old sky plus app can't get it back

We are the same can't record with skyplus remotely but if we are home on same network as box I can flick a program to record.... Nothing to do with my networks when not at home sky can't use that as an excuse.. This is very very annoying..

I found do have another phone with app on if so go to that phone or even the play store app and share  the app to your phone it should work as you are sky customer with sky plus. Google it it will help it did me!!

I have just raised a complaint about the lack of progress on this issue, not sure it will make any difference but we'll see.

You can reinstall the old sky app by going to the Play store and searching apps which are not on your phone but you've had before, then you can reinstall it. 

Trouble is you then can't sign in to it, but still better for the TV guide plus setting programs to record when you are connected to the same wifi when home. Can also see your planner.

A lot of users have raised the issue, and nothings being done to rectify it! I've removed the Sky Go app, as its just a glorified TV guide now. But it works on my new ipad! But I can't stick that in my pocket!

@TerryHackney I can also use Sky Go from my Windows 11 laptop but don't want to take that on holiday with me!

I've found it to work on Android 14 but not 13.  Does anyone else have info regarding Android versions that it does / doesn't work on?

My Samsung tablet is running Android 11 and it stopped working at about the same time. According to Google Play Store, Android 7.0 or higher is needed to install (doesn't mean all the functionality works though I guess).

I have received a reply to my complaint, see abridged version below.

 

"Thank you for getting in touch and sharing your experience regarding the Sky Go app on your Android tablet.

 

I completely understand how frustrating it must be to lose the ability to send programme requests remotely, especially when you rely on this feature while away from home.

 

We are aware that some customers are currently unable to use the remote recording feature on the Sky Go app for Android tablets.

 

Our app team is actively investigating the issue, but unfortunately, there is not a confirmed timeline for a fix at the moment.

 

I realise this is disappointing, and I apologise for the inconvenience caused.

 

To help, please try the following advanced troubleshooting steps:

- Make sure your Sky Go App is updated to the latest version from the Google Play Store.
- Uninstall and reinstall the Sky Go App. Please note, you will lose any downloads you had saved.
- Check your device has enough storage space and a stable internet connection (Wi-Fi or broadband, not mobile data or VPN).
- Confirm your Sky Account is active and your Sky TV Subscription is up to date.
- If you are abroad, please note that remote recording may not be available in all countries due to rights restrictions.

 

At the moment, the Sky Go App is the main way to set up recordings remotely.

 

The Sky+ App is no longer supported and will not receive updates or bug fixes, but if you have used it before, you may be able to reinstall it here: https://www.sky.com/help/articles/redownload-sky-plus-app

 

Please note, its functionality may be limited and it may not work reliably.

 

As we have provided a resolution in this email, we will be closing the complaint."

 

The link to the help article gave a code 404 error. None of the advanced troubleshooting steps have helped in the past.

 

I would dispute that a resolution has been provided in the email but didn't expect anything to happen anyway.
