Sky go app keeps closing and crashing on chromebook chrome OS issue or sky go app issue?

Hi

If I open the app and browse channels, not all channels show up unless I close and reopen it. The second or third time all the channels on Sky will load. Viewing recordings is a bit hit and miss, sometimes it stutters, crashes or the Sky q box stops being available so I can't continue viewing. It is as unsatisfactory as ever. I have an Asus chromebook running ChromeVersion 107.0.5304.110 (Official Build) (64-bit). The app has been updated. The app still won't recognise that I signed up for the Beta version.

Sky sucks, nobody seems to be able to anmswer my question directly. the sky virtual assistant is a waste of time. Cant seem to get them to pass me to a real person,useless !!

Skygo works OK for everything but the sports channels. Starts off with a very jerky picture then becomes fuzzy and un watchable.

It looks like sky sports premium channels have been encripted for some reason as every other channel works fine

This is probably my 4th ot 5th post on this now.

Updated Chromebook today to version 108.0.5359.111 and running SkyGo beta version 23.1.0 dated 1st Dec 2022.

And Sky Go STILL does not allow Sports Channels to be viewed, this is both a joke and unacceptable from Sky. We're all wanting and solution and it's not forthcomimng.

Come on Sky, when will this be sorted?

I have 2 Chromebooks, one an old Dell that runs SkyGo  with the same reported issue of stuttering playback on Sky Sports - it does however play it properly from a recorded version from the SkyQ box.

My other device, a Lenovo Duet (original version) works perfectly, live video or recorded.

I really don't understand why and what is different between these devices, but it does mean that there are some Chromebooks that can run SkyGo, it isn't a blanket fail.

I would like Sky to fix it, because my Dell used to work, stopped in the last 2 months.

I have just rebooted skygo on my Chromebook and it does not work. was told by one of the support team that it does not work on Chromebook but it does sometimes for sky news.

This is a very poor service whick sky has promised to fix, see previous community posts

SKY Go works on my chromebook,only sky sports is unable to view even though I am a suscriber,BT Sports is fine,and all other channels ok

Well, there's a nice surprise. It now works on my older Dell Chromebook, I've tried Sky Sports Cricket and Main Event, both fine.

There was a Sky Go app update today AND a ChromeOS update, so I don't know which/either fixed it, or Sky fixed something on the back end.

JUst tried it I am recieving slow picture and speech on sports channels,all the rest foine as before,it seems an issue with premium sports channels

I tried today all channels inc sports working fine,I am watching Crystal Palace V Newcastle at the moment,picture and sound perfect.

Are sky in process of fixing this problem why can you tube Amazon bbc and itv get it right but not sky ?????
