I have been unable to watch or download shows on my iPad or iPhone. Following a comment on someone elses post, I questioned whether the devices were recognising me as being abroad. I am not abroad, I am in the UK.
I was unable to make any adjustments on my iPhone to indicate my location as being in the UK, but when I activate ExpressVPN and and set my VPN address in the UK on each device then I full access to the shows and downloadd on SkyGo.
It is not my intention to contnue to subscribe to ExpressVPN so I need an alternative solution.
I cannot identify any other Apps or settings which might be suggesting that I am not in the UK.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreDo you usually use a VPN or did you install it to try and sort out this issue ?

Thanks
I have used VPNs in the past but it has been switched off for many months. Also, the SkyGo app has not been working for many months.
The only reason I conntinue to have Express VPN is because I did not cancel the subscription at the right time.
Since my original post, I tried deleting the ExpressVPN app from my phone and rebooted the iPhone. With that and without a VPN, the SkyGo app ceased to function again. It would show the blue screen but would not open the SkyGo app.
I tried a Norton VPN which I have not used before, that did not allow the access to the menus on SkyGo but gave an error message if I tried to watch a TV show or download a show.
I downloaded the ExpressVPN app again, logged in and switch on the VPN, SkyGo started to function again.
I am sure that I should not have to rely on Express VPN to give me access to SkyGo.
