TNT Via HBO Cost

I have a question, i'm starting to look at the cost of sports channel subscriptions ready for the new season. currently to get TNT sport on Sky its offering it at £34.99. BUT if i look on HBO website if I subscribed via there for 12 months i can get it for £25.99. 

firstly how come you don't get this discount if subscribing via sky? also would people take the offer from HBO directly? And would i be able to simple Log into my HBo account and watch TNT from Glass? 

i'd happily subscribe via sky but £9 more expensive is £108 more over the year

either because sky has decided not to offer the lower cost or their agreement with hbo doesn't permit them from doing so

Yes you would but you wouldn't be able to view the channels from the sky epg 

(note that if you have the free sky hbo entertainment tier and go down this route then make sure that the email address on the hbo account is the same as the sky account in order to have both entitlements on a single HBO account)

I'd imagine it's a contract thing. I'd happily subscribe to TNT as part of a longer term commitment for a discounted rate via Sky  but I've only ever seen them offer the rolling monthly contract.. 

For me this means both TNT Sports and Sky miss out on extra money from me as i tend to only subscribe to TNT sports from Feb to May in order to watch the last few group champions league games and the

knockout rounds as opposed to subscribing all year round. 

Perosnally I can't be bothered to be forced into watching it via the HBO Max app which is why I've not taken up that 12 month offer - but should they ever offer a low latency stream via HBO Max I may be persuaded.

There have always been ways to get discounted access to TNT Sports, as long as you are happy to watch through the app only.

I have it for £19 per month with my broadband, others can get it included "for free" with their mobile package and now (as you have mentioned), you can go direct. 

There will be a variety of reasons why Sky charge £34, I suspect this will be paid grudgingly by those that want to watch via a traditional EPG. 

Personally, I don't think TNT Sports is worth the £19 I pay, let alone £34, but at least we have a choice depending on our personal preferences.

TNT subscription is one of those very frustrating ones for me because I totally agree. It is not worth the money! I literally only watch it for the few Premier League games (but would happily not), but mainly because I do enjoy the Champions League! if it wasn't for the Champions League I wouldn't even contemplate getting TNT.

The irony of course is that next season was going to be their last with Champions League as Paramount won the rights from 2027/28 (Sky will have the other European competitions).

Then Paramount agreed to buy WBD, including HBO and TNT Sports, so I suspect we will go full circle!
