Swapping back to Q

After 3 hrs on phone managed to swap back to Sky.

I was initially contacted saying Sky glass was the way forward and stat dishes would disappear,I was gullible and agreed to get skyglass.

I wint go into problems with it as they have been well documented. 

I said I wanted to change back ,the Indian call centre said it would cost me 13 quid a month more than it was costing me when I had q a month ago so I just cancelled the lot ,they would not let me send back the TV.However I then managed to phone a uk call centre who said I could send the TV back as it was within the 31 days cooling period and he also got me back onto q at a price near what I was paying .

The uk call centres are superior .

I was definitely mis sold ,I am now having to buy a new TV but at least im back to Sky q.

Sky are not easy to deal with and it took about 4 different people and 4 different calls to get sorted ,the livingstone call handler was great though and did what the foreign call centre said they could not

You can, but there's not much point in buying a new Sky Glass TV if you're not going to pay for a streaming TV subscription to use on it.

This part you were told is partially correct. The satelliete broadcasting platform is likely coming to an end towards the end of the decade, when the satellites which service the UK go end of life ( some additional signs of this is the ability to purcahse Sky Q online as been removed and can only be done over the phone).

So the newer streaming platform is certainly the future, however you don't have to buy a Sky Glass you can get Sky Stream, which will plug into any TV, so it does sound like you were unfortunately hard sold an up-sell on the Sky Glass when perhaps Sky Stream would have been a better fit initially.

For £1200 (65" Glass price) you could get a 65" Hisense OLED (£930) and a soundbar with separate sub-woofer (£260).

If it were my choice I'd go OLED

@2muchTV Fully agree, my viewing experience improved dramatically when I sold my Glass TV and purchased a Samsung OLED and Samsung soundbar in the Black Friday sales a couple of years ago.  Coupled with a stream puck the picture quality is outstanding.

I need to make a correction.... I quoted £930 for a 65" OLED I saw on eBay, but just looked  on Amazon and the same TV is only £901 with next day delivery. It would look fantastic with Q, Stream or Now TV with Ultra Boost (which I am currently paying £32 for).

@letitrock, while Glass is an attractive proposition because of the zero % loan and Sky's UI, ,I really believe you can get a better TV for similar money. 

Like you @Fothergill1 I purchased my  Samsung OLED with free soundbar and sub woofer for £978. Mine was  a discountinued model from the previous year's line up,  but I didn't and don't care.  Samsung and most other major TV  manufacturers bring out new models every year anyway, so whatever TV I buy will be superceded by a newer model.

I swapped from Sky Q to Sky Glass back to Sky Q.I also tried Sky steam.I also sent back Sky glass when it first came out.I bet the call centre says ho no it him again lol.

I agree Indian call Centre is not very good.I always liked Scottish call centre.best one in being a customer for over 30 years.I joined when there was competition two satellite TV companies.
