Sky glass engineer fee

Hi, I've just had to call a sky engineer out to help fix the glass Tv as it keeps shutting off for long periods of time and everything that was suggested didn't work.

They asked for £99 for this. Is it usual for the cost for a callout to be that high?

We're not aware Glass has 'engineer' attendance, so nothing about that is usual.

How did you go about arranging the visit?

@TimmyBGood  not really sure how it works and price points but could op be referring to the glass repair service if in warranty

Re: Sky glass engineer fee

This was booked over the phone to which the agent said it's a £99 call out fee.

I had also gone through the processes of resetting on the phone and everything

There's no warranty repair that I know of: it's always a hardware swap.  Field repair of most television sets is entirely impractical.

And that was definitely with Sky themselves?

Must be a new thing, then.  Glass has been around since late 2021 and until now hasn't had any in-premises support.

I'm surprised it's a charged-for service though.

Re: Sky glass engineer fee

To be honest so am I.

I had read the contract and it only says payment would be made if the issue was found to be our fault but that's not even been confirmed yet
