I have a 55 inch Sky Glass TV. When I go into the Spotify it finds my Spotify account but the search function is not working on the TV. I have tried removing my account & reinstalling it & refreshing all apps, then restarting the TV.

I rang sky about a month ago and reported the problem directly to them over the phone, completely forgot about it , I did the usual logged out reset all apps turned tv off . And low and behold yesterday when I used Spotify on the tv the search bar keyboard just popped up on the screen.
I was surprised but it seems they fixed it

My sky glass tv is doing the exact same thing, I cannot do a search on Spotify app using the sky remote, it will not bring u into the keyboard to select what u want . I have a Spotify account

Odd one.
I just tried on both my Sky Stream Pucks (I do not have a Sky Glass TV, but it should me calling up the same app), it allows me to select the search at top of the Spotify app and am able to use the app search bar with keyboard to type and enter fine.
I often search in the Spotify app.
Have you been able to do it recently and this has only just started happening for you?
In the Spotify app, go to settings, what is shown as the version by Player:
Mine says 4.59.1

Things to try:
Try logging out of the Spotify app and logging back in again, that often solves Spotify issues.
Otherwise, if you have not done so already, an apps refresh;
- Press Home on your Sky remote, then select Settings
- Press System management then Resets and updates and finally Refresh apps.
- You'll see a message that says, 'Your apps are being refreshed'.
- Press Dismiss to return to normal viewing.
The refresh can take 24 hours to complete.

Hi. Thanks for your replies. I have tried refreshing all apps etc with no success. I am beginning to think its either a sky tv gen 2 issue or a Spotify one. I recently replaced a sky tv gen 1 with the gen 2 one & had no problems with the gen 1 tv. I also have older 2 pucks that I have never tried to play Spotify through before. As soon as I added my Spotify account details to one of these the search function worked okay as it should. However I am beginning to think its probably easier searching Spotify on my mobile when using the Sky TV Gen 2 rather than using the sky remote that I would need to do if it was working properly.

Gen 1 65inch.
Same problem. Search keyboard does not appear. so we log in via phone, tablet, etc to select tracks. This is a workaround, so still not happy. Have tried resetting. Problem is, when we reset, we have to re-log in to Amazon, Netflix, Disney, etc. sick of that process as it takes at least 30 minutes getting all apps working again. after 3rd or 4th time in a day doing this (as advised by tech support), you put up with the sh*tty SKY Spotify app. As for Sky Glass being the smartest tv out there..... we fell for that too. This is our 3rd Sky Glass tv in 24 months. Now out of warranty. My advice? DO NOT BUY!

Glad this is fixed.
Was not aware this was still an ongoing problem for those on Sky Glass, since your last posts back in Nov 2024.
Seems odd, as Imuse Spotify most days on my Sky Stream and never had this issue.
Can you please try a settings restart of your Sky Glass TV, plus a broadband/hub restart in that order.
Then do an apps refresh on your Sky Gkass TV;
- Press Home on your Sky remote, then highlight Settings.
- Press System management, then Resets and updates, and finally Refresh apps.
- You'll see a message that says, 'Your apps are being refreshed'.
- Press Dismiss to return to normal viewing.
